Korean Box Office Champion ๐Ÿ† A High-Intelligence Crime ‘Based on True Events’ Within a Deception

In 2008, South Korea was shocked by a massive fraud case.

The criminal mastermind was named Cho Hee-baht, known as the ‘rare fraudster in Korean history’.

Over four years, Cho Hee-baht’s gang used a Ponzi scheme to defraud in South Korea, falsely claiming that ‘through medical equipment leasing, one can earn 30% to 40% high returns’, deceiving over 40,000 people, with an amount reaching 40 trillion Korean won, equivalent to about 110 billion New Taiwan dollars at the time.

After the incident was discovered, Cho Hee-baht and four main culprits fled to China in December 2008.

Subsequently, Interpol issued a red notice for their gang.

In 2011, Cho Hee-baht was reportedly ‘suddenly deceased’ in Yantai, Shandong due to a heart attack, but there were also doubts, suggesting that the body had been cremated, making DNA comparison impossible, so the possibility of Cho Hee-baht ‘faking death’ cannot be ruled out.

Currently, all other members of Cho Hee-baht’s gang have been arrested, but the mystery of Cho Hee-baht ‘faking death’ remains unsolved.

Today, we introduce a South Korean movie based on this fraud caseโ€”

In 2008, a criminal gang formed by Jang Doosik and others used a Ponzi scheme to commit fraud, with over 30,000 victims.

Many people lost everything in this scam, with more than 10 suicides.

Jang Doosik then fled to China and died three years later.

Although the South Korean police officially declared his death, reports of Jang Doosik ‘faking death’ continue to be received.

Fast forward eight years later.

A prosecutor named Park Hisoo arrested the police chief for accepting bribes from Jang Doosik.

Subsequently, Park Hisoo held a press conference, claiming to have a list of bribes from Jang Doosik, with the police chief among them.

Reporters on-site asked if Jang Doosik was still alive?

Park Hisoo said, ‘It would be better if he were alive, then I can bring him to justice.’
