Aside from tvN’s “The Genius Paik 3” and Netflix’s original series “Culinary Class Wars Season 2”, which have either finished filming or are currently in production, Baek will not appear in any future television programs.
On May 6, Baek released a video titled “Starting Again From the Beginning” on his official YouTube channel.
In the video, he said, “I’ve taken time to reflect deeply and examine the entire organization in relation to various company issues. We’re currently identifying the root causes of problems, including product quality, food safety and hygiene at festival events, and are working on improvements one by one.”
Taking full responsibility, Baek added, “All problems stem from me. I’ve realized that only by changing myself can true change occur. With a painful determination, I will overhaul the organization and transform our corporate culture through direct communication with all employees.”

He continued, “What pains me the most right now is the desperate situation faced by our franchise owners. They are our partners and like family to Theborn Korea. As soon as we established an emergency support plan, I personally visited the field to hear their voices. From that experience, I made a resolution: ‘From now on, not a single franchise owner will be left behind.’ In addition to the previously announced emergency plan, we will implement full-scale support measures by brand. Thinking of it as sharing the company’s profits with the franchisees, we will launch a large-scale support plan next week.”
Baek emphasized, “A successful franchise leads to a successful headquarters, which in turn benefits our shareholders. In order to go far together with our franchise owners, I will not let go of their hands until the end. I will return to my roots and start over.”

Regarding the allegations of “broadcasting power abuse”, he said, “This too is my fault. I am taking the criticisms seriously. If my words or actions in the process of producing entertainment content have hurt anyone, that is entirely my responsibility. I received far more love than I deserved, and I should have remained humble. I sincerely apologize. From this moment on, aside from the shows currently in production, I will cease all broadcasting activities.”
Meanwhile, Theborn Korea has been embroiled in various controversies since being listed on KOSPI on November 6, 2024. These include the substandard quality of Bbaek-ham, hygiene violations, breaches of agricultural land law, alleged alcohol-fueled interviews by executives, mislabeled product origins, and use of industrial-grade metal cookware. These issues have triggered a sharp decline in the company’s stock price and intense criticism from investors.
