‘Gangnam Criminal Investigation Unit’ tells the story of multiple mysterious disappearances in the Gangnam district, all involving female victims. The continuous occurrence of these incidents shrouds the once dazzling Gangnam district in shadow. The case becomes a social hotspot, and the police feel immense pressure. However, as the investigation deepens, the police discover a deeper criminal network behind these disappearances, far beyond their imagination.
Jo Yoo-jin plays elite detective Kang Dong-woo, originally a star in the police force but demoted due to corruption charges. As the series of disappearances in Gangnam intensify, Kang Dong-woo is reinstated and returns to the crime scene. However, his reinstatement is not for personal honor or justice but with more complex emotions. He teams up with prosecutor Min Rui-jin (played by Ha Yoon-kyung), who is involved in the investigation for promotion, creating a partnership with both cooperation and hidden agendas.
