The first episode had a 4% viewership rating, the second had 4.3%, and the ratings have been steadily climbing since its premiere, with the fourth episode even reaching 6%.
This nearly buried new drama is called ‘Hide,’ which may seem like a person’s name, but it is actually a literal translation of ‘hide.’ Perhaps a title change to ‘The Disappearing Him’ would have been better.
‘Hide’ is a crime suspense drama series starring Lee Bo-young, Lee Moo-saeng, and others, which premiered in late March.
With a total of 12 episodes, each one more thrilling than the last, especially the fourth episode, which elevated the overall quality of the series.
The fourth episode is packed with intense energy, as the fast-paced plot unfolds, revealing the truth and reasons behind the disappearance of the husband, Cha Sung-jae, leaving behind a mess.
Clues were subtly laid out in the previous episodes, as the daughter claims to have seen her father, Cha Sung-jae, and his mother is in a rush to cremate the body, indicating hidden secrets.
What’s even more exciting is the confrontation between Boon-young and Ma-jang, with high energy and thrilling scenes unfolding, making it quite enjoyable to watch.
Ma-jang resorts to all means to intimidate Boon-young, pressuring her to return the 7 billion Korean won her husband took, even using her daughter to threaten her, which infuriates Boon-young.
Boon-young fights back in her own legal way, suing Ma-jang for harassment and intimidation, demanding 7 billion Korean won in damages.
The courtroom scenes are extremely thrilling, with continuous plot twists and intense revelations. Boon-young’s main goal is not just to claim damages but to expose Ma-jang as a murderer.
After the peak confrontation is resolved, the story reaches a transitional conclusion, only to introduce more unexpected twists. Boon-young’s neighbor harbors even bigger secrets, making this character more complex than Ma-jang.
The first two episodes of ‘Hide’ may not have been astonishing, but the story truly starts to shine from the fourth episode onwards. The subsequent plot developments of this new series are definitely worth looking forward to.
