Recently, there has been a lot of buzz about Korean actor Kim Soo-Hyun,
suggesting that building collapses are a common occurrence for Korean actors,
but there are also a few rare clean actors who have had almost no negative news since their debut.
They are the enviable heavenly couple who have also starred in the same movie.
This movie is ‘Negotiation’ starring Son Ye-Jin and Hyun Bin.
The female lead, Ha Chae-Yoon, is a negotiation expert at the local police department.
Due to a sudden kidnapping incident in Seoul’s Nangok-dong, she is forced to rush to the scene during a blind date and negotiate with Captain Jung for thirty minutes of negotiation time.
The kidnappers are two Southeast Asian men who, after a failed robbery, want to use a hostage to get the police to dispatch a helicopter to help them escape the country.
Ha Chae-Yoon steps forward to negotiate and persuade them to drop their weapons, but one of the kidnappers realizes that the SWAT team outside is getting closer, and his emotions become increasingly unstable.
It turns out that the captain insisted on using aggressive tactics and gave the order to shoot without ensuring the safety of the hostages, ultimately resulting in both hostages being fatally stabbed.
This incident leaves Ha Chae-Yoon feeling guilty for not fulfilling her duty, so she submits her resignation to Captain Jung.
However, the captain rejects the application and comforts her to rest for a few days until he returns from his business trip to discuss further.
But the next day, team members hurriedly come to Ha Chae-Yoon’s home, saying that the Seoul Police Chief wants to see her.
Shortly after arriving there, Ha Chae-Yoon is taken into the war room to handle an emergency situation, where she meets not only the Police Chief but also a secretary from the Blue House National Security Office.
Ha Chae-Yoon is arranged to speak with the kidnappers alone, but unaware of the situation, she arrogantly hangs up on the other party twice in order to have a better strategy and questions the chief about the current status.
