i-dle’s Sensational New Album Teaser: 6 Ways to Express ‘No G, No Worries’! Hidden Clues in the Beginning of ‘we’

The girl group (G)I-DLE changed their name to i-dle on their 7th anniversary, releasing a series of new albums and individual teasers that constantly convey the message of ‘removing the G’. The creative filming is truly eye-catching and stunning.

i-dle celebrated their 7th anniversary on May 2 by announcing their new name and releasing a video called ‘for (G)’. In the video, five members raise a toast around a coffin with the letter G, sparking various interpretations. Some Western fans think it’s a resurrection ceremony for former member Soojin, while many believe it’s a funeral for the gender symbol G, echoing the reason for the name change: no longer defined by ‘female’ or ‘Gender’.

Following that, i-dle also released a special album ‘We are i-dle’, re-recording popular songs before Soojin’s departure. Today, they unveiled the group teaser ‘i-dentity Trailer’, conveying the message of ‘not caring at all even without G’ in six different ways.
